W.F. Garrett-Petts teaches Canadian Literature, rhetoric and composition, and critical theory at the University College of the Cariboo. Co-editor and co-founder of Textual Studies in Canada: Canada's Journal of Cultural Literacy, he has published widely on reading theory, Canadian literature, and interart practices. His work has appeared in College English,Canadian Literature, English Quarterly, Open Letter,Signature, and two recent books. Together with Donald Lawrence he has co-authored articles on the history and practice of "integrating visual and verbal literacies." The recipient of several research and teaching awards, including a major grant from the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council of Canada, he is at work on a study called PhotoGraphic Encounters.

Donald Lawrence is a nationally-celebrated artist teaching photography, photographic theory, and other studio-based disciplines at the University College of the Cariboo. His own work engages aspects of personal narrative in a wide range of forms: from visual/verbal travel narratives to mixed media sculptures and installations. His work has been exhibited across Canada and the United States, at galleries in such centres as Vancouver, Calgary, Winnipeg, Toronto, and Kent, Connecticut. Together with W.F. Garrett-Petts, he is at work organizing an exhibition of image/text art.
